The Traditional Friterm Summer Picnic Was Very Entertaining

The summer picnic which has become traditional for the Friterm Family took place by the Lake of Aydos on 2 June 2012.

The excitement for the picnic started weeks before the event and more than 700 Friterm staff and families came together. Our commission was very busy with organizing the service bus, food, competitions and music and shared the sweet fatigue and deserved honor of success at the end of the day.

It wouldn’t be wrong if we said the children were the happiest. They ate their cotton candies as they were getting pictures drawn on their faces and arms with water paint. The clowns played with them the whole day making children shout enthusiastically.

The tables for food were laid at one corner and the music corner was set up at another place. The music broadcast started in the morning and people started to fill up the stage in the afternoon. Some really enjoyed the Balkan songs and played folk dance all together.

Activities drew most of the attention. The competitions were organized in four categories; families got very excited while watching their children trying to carry eggs without dropping them. Three tug-of-war competitions were held. The teams were made up of 10 people and children, women and men competed in their categories. We can say that the competition amongst four men teams challenged the contestants’ muscles to the fullest extent. At the end of the competitions held with great excitement, the winners were presented their gifts. The live mini football (pinball) tournament organized for the first time this year continued the whole day. 8 teams participated in the tournament which had a winner at the end of the day and the funniest part for the spectators was the players playing football tied up to each other from their waists by a rope. Although the ball sometimes went into the lake, this technical problem was solved by those who drove the dolphin bicycle making everybody join in the activity.

Some caught fish, some had their children sleep on their chests, some played cards and some had heated debates and at the end of the day, they were all relaxed and smiling and looked as if they wanted the activities to continue. Last words of the day such as we will definitely win the next time fixed the appointment for future encounters.

I would like to thank the Çağla Tourism team for ensuring that the picnic site was clean and ready for our organization and for serving us tea the whole day, Tayfun Bey and his team for tasty food, Sunay Bey and his team for taking care of the sound system and the music both in our new year celebrations and the picnic, the Aktivite Team for organizing various activities such as face painting, clown, cotton candy and live pinball and all men and women participants including children for having participated in the games and displayed decent competition as well as all staff and their families who made the effort to attend our picnic and get to know each other.

I would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate commission members who worked hard for the organization of this picnic and wish them every success in the future.

As the Friterm Family, I would like to indicate that we would like to increase our efforts to develop and spread our social activities in the future.
