Dear members, partners, and friends,
Thank you very much for your continued support, commitment and hard work in bringing our joint European industry ideals and the Eurovent family forward!
It’s our wish that the New Year brings us all lots of new business opportunities and growth. For the Eurovent Association, Eurovent Certita Certification and Eurovent Market Intelligence, 2018 was marked with lots of developments.
Christmas Present for Members

Before going into further detail, I’m happy to announce a special Christmas present for you. It’s already online and ready to use: An all-encompassing European legislation database.
When logging into the Extranet, you’re now able to find all European Union legislation of relevance for our industry in one place. This not only covers regulatory texts, but also FAQ documents, guidelines, preparatory studies, impact assessments, review studies, harmonised standards, and much more. The database contains most recent publications, but also allows you to go back in time.
As of now and more than ever before, the Eurovent website is your central gate to whatever you need.
New Association President and 60 years of Eurovent

In May, Eurovent members elected me as their new President. This is a big honour for myself and the entire Turkish HVACR industry, which had nominated me for this position. What made it even more special was being a President during the 60th year of Eurovent and the concluding, high-ranking birthday celebration during our 2018 EUROVENTSUMMIT in Seville, Spain.
With 524 participants from 32 countries, our third Summit has proven itself as the flagship event of the wider European HVACR industry, taking place biennially in changing locations throughout the continent. Allow me to already invite you to our next Summit in Turkey from 22-25 September 2020.
Challenging International Boundary Conditions

At the Eurovent Association, we strengthened our activities surrounding EU legislation, standardisation, and industry promotion. In a year of challenging international boundary conditions, it was of particular relevance for our members to strongly reinforce our guiding principle: Ensuring a global level-playing field based on innovation. Together with ICARHMA partner associations, we made clear that unfair trade practices and working against WTO principles are not the way forward.
This is being supported by Eurovent Middle East. Locally registered in Dubai and counting 40+ member companies from Europe, Asia and North America, our Chapter is open and inclusive. It has a strong desire to bring regional standards forward in terms of energy efficiency, IAQ, and safety. In 2018, Eurovent Middle East was particularly busy with accompanying legislative developments, which often refer to only one type of standard – leading to an unfair competition. To enable members to export efficiently, the work of our team in Dubai is more important than ever.
Positive European Market Developments

On a more positive note, our association’s member numbers have risen to above 1.100, covering close to all European countries. Our growth is largely driven by Central and Eastern Europe, but increasingly also the United Kingdom, with many British manufacturers aiming to ensure sustainable industry links with the mainland.
Within Eurovent Market Intelligence, data provided by 307 manufacturers throughout 14 statistical collections reflect a positive development of Europe’s HVACR market. Our experts project 2018 to close with an 11% year-on-year increase for Chillers, 2,5% for Fan Coil Units, and 2,1% for Air Handling Units – to name just a few.
Our subunit Eurovent Certita Certification, which runs the globally known ‘Eurovent Certified Performance’ schemes, is experiencing steadily rising participation numbers, with an increasing global recognition across more than 40 certification programmes. These are in line with forward-thinking European Union legislation, reflecting the state-of-the-art technological developments and energy classification.
Happy New Year
In 2019, we will take some decisive steps forward. Once again, the Eurovent family wishes you and yours a merry Christmas, relaxing holiday season, and happy New Year.
Kind regards,
